Addressing Dental Imperfections:

It offers solutions for a wide range of dental imperfections. Whether it’s stained, chipped, misaligned, or missing teeth, we utilize various techniques to address these issues. Dental veneers, crowns, teeth whitening, orthodontics, and dental implants are common treatments used to improve the appearance of teeth and create a seamless smile.

Emphasis on Facial Harmony:

One of the main principles of smile design dentistry is achieving facial harmony. Dentists carefully consider the patient’s facial features, including lip position, symmetry, and smile line when designing the smile. It ensures that the new smile aligns naturally with the overall facial aesthetics, resulting in a balanced and attractive appearance.

Balancing Aesthetics and Functionality:

While aesthetics play a vital role in smile design, functionality is equally important. We assess factors such as speech patterns and overall oral health when designing a perfect smile. This comprehensive approach ensures that the new smile not only looks beautiful. But it also functions optimally for chewing, speaking, and oral comfort. In addition, a smile designed can raise an individual’s confidence and self-esteem.

It makes them a conservative option while providing significant aesthetic improvements, resulting in a beautiful, natural-looking smile.

Stain Resistance for Long-lasting Brilliance

One notable benefit of porcelain veneers is their superior stain resistance. Unlike natural tooth enamel, which is susceptible to discoloration from coffee, tea, or tobacco, porcelain veneers are highly resistant to stains. The smooth, non-porous surface of the veneers repels external staining agents, allowing your smile to retain its brilliance over time. This stain-resistant quality makes porcelain veneers a reliable and long-lasting solution for maintaining a dazzling smile. Follow us on Linkedin for more updates.

Durable and Long-Lasting

Porcelain veneers are renowned for their durability and longevity. With proper care and maintenance, they can last for a decade or even longer. The high-quality porcelain material used in veneers is known for its strength and resistance to wear and tear. It means you can enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile without worrying about frequent replacements. Additionally, porcelain veneers are less likely to chip or fracture compared to other dental restoration options, making them a reliable choice for individuals seeking a lasting solution to their dental concerns.

Top 5 Benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry

Have you ever had those moments where, while looking at photos of models and celebrities, you find yourself envious of how beautiful their teeth are? It happens to most of us. Well, luckily, recent developments in Cosmetic Dentistry have shown that it’s never too late for us to get the smile we’ve long been dreaming to have. While there are some who remain doubtful about getting enhancements, those who’ve actually done it can’t stop raving about the benefits. We listed some of them down for you:

Anti-Aging

Well, that made us look like we’re endorsing skin care products but really, you’ll be surprised at how Cosmetic Dentistry can make you look younger than you actually are. See, the thing is, the enamel on our teeth undergo erosion and discoloration as we get older. As an aftermath, the beautiful features we have on our face cave inwards because the underlying structure no longer has the strength to give it the support it needs. Getting the best cosmetic dentist to correct these dental issues will make you look attractive and young in no time.

Instant Confidence Boost

Not all of us have the confidence to show our teeth when we smile. This is understandable, especially since many of us are conscious about how our teeth look. Now, this may not seem like much,  but it actually affects how we pose for pictures, interact with our peers, and speak during public gatherings. You can get that confidence (and your smile) back once you set an appointment with the dentist at Prime Dental.

Alter Aesthetic Flaws

Disproportioned, misshapen, and stained teeth are just few of the dental concerns that most people have. There are also those who have wide gaps between their teeth. These imperfections can be fixed with the help of the best cosmetic dentist out there.

Keep Future Dental Problems At Bay

As with all things in life, the best way to address dental problems is to keep them from happening. While Cosmetic Dentistry is all about giving you a smile that’s aesthetically pleasing, it also has the ability to nip potential dental issues in the bud. Availing of this kind of service from the dental clinic will give you a plethora of restorative benefits.

Strengthens Your Teeth

People with weak teeth don’t have the luxury to eat any food they want. Prime Dental offers procedures that can make your teeth healthier and a whole lot stronger. They have cosmetic options that won’t just give you the perfect smile, but can also boost the overall well-being of your teeth.

Cosmetic dental procedures don’t just address the aesthetic aspect of our teeth. It does so much more than just that. It gives us the confidence to show everyone how beautiful our smiles are, and it gives our teeth the care and attention they deserve.

Are Dental Implants Right For You?

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is an artificial tooth replacement that is custom-made specifically for a person’s mouth. It has three separate components: the part that is placed in the bone as a replacement of the root, the abutment which is the portion where the crown attaches, and the crown itself which is cemented or screwed to the root portion through the abutment. Implants function as real teeth, enabling you to bite and chew without the worry of the teeth coming loose again.

What are the alternatives to dental implants?

1) Complete Or Partial Dentures

You will need full mouth dentures when you are missing all your teeth. For a few teeth, partial dentures get used where the teeth are attached to a plastic base designed to match your gum’s color. Again, this plastic material covers a metal frame with metal clasps that may be attached to your teeth. This allows you to eat and speak easily. Also, you can remove them regularly for hygiene purposes.

However, this method is not the best as it may be less stable, require regular repairs, and sometimes the dentures are uncomfortable in your mouth causing sores.

2) Fixed Bridges

Bridges are fixed appliances that attach to teeth that are adjacent to missing teeth spaces. The bridges are cemented permanently in your mouth, and you don’t remove them like dentures. But this makes it hard to clean them properly especially in between. And in case of damage, you need a replacement which will incur in future expenses.

Why should you consider dental implants?

Dental implant costs may be high compared to other alternatives, but this is because it is a more permanent and long term solution compared to the aforementioned options (many times being a result that lasts a lifetime). The success rate is 95 to 98 percent.

Here are some advantages to dental implants;

Convenience -No constant removing of the implant as it fuses with your jawbone.

Speech -Dental implants improve your diction when you speak when the gaps in your the mouth are filled.

Improved health – Your oral hygiene is essential in preserving the rest of your teeth, and a dental implant helps you do that.

Improved appearance– Gaps in your mouth change the way the muscles around your mouth function, compromising your smile. With dental implants, you will regain the regular muscle function and thus your original smile and appearance.

How do you make the most of your dental implants?

How you take care of your teeth impacts how healthy they will be regardless if you have dental implants or not.

To ensure the dental implant in your mouth is durable, do this regularly;

– Brush your teeth after each meal or at least twice a day.

– Floss your teeth regularly.

– Implement the use of adjuncts like antibacterial rinses.

– Finally, visit your dentist regularly for professional check-ups and cleaning.

Conclusion

Dental implants are a long-lasting method to solve missing teeth problems and maintain the health and stability of your remaining teeth. You can visit us at Prime Dental in Pembroke Pines to consult on the treatment that is right for you and whether dental implants are a good option for you.

COVID-19 and Dentistry: Challenges and Possible Solutions

On the 27th of March this year, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made a recommendation that would affect the oral healthcare industry. They moved to postpone most dental services (except dental emergencies) as part of their efforts to keep COVID-19 at bay.

It’s been seven months since the world came to know about the novel virus. While there remains to be no known cure, most countries have begun to ease quarantine restrictions to prepare people for the “new normal.”

Among those that have started opening their doors to accommodate patients are people working in the field of dentistry. Knowing that COVID-19 is still upon us, every dentist in Pembroke Pines and all over the United States came up with different ways to treat their patients while keeping themselves safe. They also understand that going to the dental office can be tough these days, so they came up with ways to ease everyone’s worries by making a list of their solutions to the challenges dentists face today.

The Rise of Online Consultations

In today’s day and age, we are constantly using electronics. We can do many things with our tablets, phones, and other devices. This also means that things have changed in the dentistry world. At Prime Dental, among many Covid-19 protocols, we have implemented online consultations. Patients no longer have to wait in waiting rooms to see the dentist. Patients don’t have to make appointments that take weeks of waiting to attend. We have simplified the whole process with online consultations.

With Prime Dental online consultations you can easily connect with Prime Dental expert dentists in your area or even overseas via an online tool similar to the new and popular Zoom app. If you are traveling for work and have an oral health problem, all that you would need to do is request a time via email and you have an appointment shortly thereafter. If you are in a situation where you are pressed for time and can’t make it to Prime Dental, you needn’t worry, we got your back.

Prime Dental Covid-19 Protocols

Usually, at a medical or dental practice, people expect many other people waiting inside the office waiting area, but in order to decrease the number of numbers in the waiting room, Prime Dental has different options in place to keep all their patients safe & sound.

– Valet Check-in. Patients can wait in their cars instead of the waiting room.⠀

– Temperature is taken on everyone when they arrive.⠀

– Larger periods of time between patients, in order to properly disinfect the premises.⠀

– Prime Dental uses hospital-level disinfection in all areas in our office, and our team is highly trained in these protocols.⠀

– Prime Dental sterilizes every instrument used. Items that cannot be sterilized are disposable. ⠀

– Prime Dental practice all CDC and OSHA standards of infection control on a daily basis, even prior to this virus. We treat everything to the highest standards for our patients’ and employees’ safety.⠀

– Prime Dental has a good supply of PPE (masks, gloves, gowns, and protective eye wear). ⠀

– Prime Dental would be happy to give everyone a tour of our infection control protocols. We take pride in our high standards of disease prevention.⠀

Keeping Both Parties Safe

With the absence of a cure, prevention is the only way people can protect themselves from COVID-19. Since it’s difficult to identify who has it and who doesn’t, patients are required to follow safety protocols.

Aside from filling out pre-screening forms, patients must wear face masks and personal protective gear (PPE) before going to the clinic. Patients will be greeted by a staff member who will conduct temperature scans and ensure that they’re have sanitized their hands and answer a Covid-19 questionnaire.

Before and After Treatment

Social distancing is also key to keeping COVID-19 at bay. Maintaining this distance, however, can be tricky especially if you’re oral healthcare professional. Dentists need to be as close to their patients as possible to properly address their concerns. Since that’s the case, dentists should allow enough time to clean themselves thoroughly before and after every single procedure.

The threat of COVID-19 is complicated, but it doesn’t mean we should put our lives on hold. We can find ways to work around it so we can continue to enjoy life without putting ourselves at risk.

DIY Tips and Tricks for Dental Care

When we were young, dental care was one of the many things our parents constantly talked to us about. They taught us how to properly brush our teeth and why we need to do it after each meal. Whenever we would experience problems with our teeth, our parents would take us to the dentist to help address our concerns.

The dentist, dental hygienist, and all the professional staff at Prime Dental will do their best to make us feel comfortable during each session. They will also make sure to give us tips on how we can best take care of our teeth! In case you need a refresher, we listed some of them below:

Flossing

Most of the people believe that brushing is enough to keep their mouth clean. Maybe they feel that flossing is tedious or even painful. But, daily flossing is an important part of your oral health care routine. It helps remove the plaque, prevent cavities, bad breath, and gum disease. It cleans the areas where a toothbrush doesn’t completely reach.

Use Fluoride

People have different views when it comes to using fluoride. For some, it’s a toxic substance that can damage not just their health but also that of their family’s. That said, how come there are still people that advocate its use?

Well, for one thing, it does a great job keeping cavities at bay. It can also help protect and repair the tooth enamel.

So is fluoride worth using or not? If you are on the fence about this topic, you may want to seek advice from professionals. Reach out to the folks at Prime Dental; they can definitely give you sound advice on how to go about using fluoride.

Watch What You Eat

We all know that there are foods we need to avoid or eat in small amounts to keep our teeth healthy. This is why a healthy diet and proper dental care go hand in hand. Avoid substances that trigger cavities such as sweets, and other sugary drinks and food. Loading up on fruits and vegetables and keeping yourself hydrated can also do wonders for your oral health!

You can make things fun by coming up with a dental care routine. You can listen to your favorite music while flossing and brushing your teeth. If you are up for it, you may also make a list of the food and drinks you have consumed for the week to see how your teeth are doing. You can also check in with your dentist every now and then so you know if there are dental concerns that need to be resolved immediately.

5 ways stress affects your teeth (and 5 things you can do about it)

Learn how some simple habits and exercises can help improve your workday – and your smile!

It seems every decade has its health demons, from alcohol to fat to sugar, but one that is timeless is stress. With seemingly less time and fewer resources to accomplish our goals, it’s inevitable that more of us are increasingly stressed at home and at work. Your General Practitioner might be concerned about your blood pressure, your Chiropractor might be monitoring your neck and back pain, but why should it worry your dentist?

You might be surprised to learn that your stress has a direct (and negative) impact on your teeth. Here are the top five ways stress can affect your oral health:

You may grind your teeth

Also called bruxism, teeth grinding while you sleep is something you may not even be aware you’re doing, yet can have serious knock-on effects, such as jaw and neck pain, headaches, tooth wear and even cracked or broken teeth.

You could develop TMJD

Teeth clenching and grinding because of stress can lead to Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD), which may require you to wear a mouth guard or even undergo further dental treatment.

You increase your risk of gum disease

Stress compromises your immune system, which means your body’s ability to fight bacteria is weakened. This opens the floodgates for gingivitis and its more serious cousin, periodontitis.

You may get mouth ulcers

There are many possible causes of mouth ulcers, but stress is at the top of the list. Apart from being unpleasant, the ulcers are an invitation for bacterial infection.

You’re more likely to neglect your oral hygiene

From lack of sleep causing us to be too tired to tend to our daily oral hygiene as assiduously as we should, to stress-eating and an increased craving for sugar, stress is just plain bad news for oral health.

So, what do we suggest you do about it?

Just trying to find time in a busy day to de-stress can be stressful in itself – call it meta-stress if you will! Fear not, there are lots of little ways to beat stress on a regular basis that won’t carve too much time out of your day. Here are our five favorites:

Go on holiday (at your desk)

No, we know a holiday may not be in your timetable (or budget), but just close your eyes for five minutes and visualize where you’d go if you could. Try to really ‘be’ there, imagining the sights and sounds.

Breathe

Taking a series of deep breaths, where you breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, can take less than a minute but has surprisingly calming effect.

Relax

Progressive muscle relaxation is a technique where you tense then relax every muscle in your body, one at a time. You might not realize which ones were tense until you focus on them.

Drink

No, not alcohol – that’s definitely not the best way to combat stress – but make sure you’re getting your fill of that magical cure-all elixir: water. Staying hydrated helps prevents headaches, which contribute to the ‘stressed-out’ feeling, and also forces you to take frequent toilet breaks!

Smile

The physical act of smiling forces your facial muscles into a position that triggers the release of endorphins – your body’s natural ‘happy’ chemical. And who knows, your smile might be catching and help the people you work with!

If you have any concerns about the effects of stress on your dental health, book your appointment with us today. The team at Prime Dental will assess you, and give you lots of great advice!
